Where your creativity and imagination will be put to the test.
We want to hear about your favorite holiday tradition,
Be it decorating the tree or baking in the kitchen.
Think of the sights, sounds, and smells of the season,
And put them into words with rhythm and reason.
Your poem can be short or long,
Just make sure it captures the magic of the holiday song.
You have until the deadline to submit your poem,
And we’ll pick a winner to bring home
A season pass to Glittering Lights in Las Vegas,
Where you can see the twinkling lights and holiday displays for ages.
So grab your pen and paper, and let your creativity flow,

This is a free contest. No entry fee is required.
At the conclusion of the contest, our staff convenes and begins the task of judging. It takes approximately 8–10 weeks to produce the final results.
All winners will receive an email notification with announcement and prize instructions. As soon as the complete list of winners is drawn up, it will be posted on the Glittering Lights website.
Poetry can be written in any poetic style.
Poem must be about holiday traditions.
A poem in its entirety must be an original work by the person entering the contest.
Plagiarism is a serious offense with serious consequences. No curse words / bad words.
Poems should be shorter than 40 lines.
No Artificial Intelligence tools to assist writing will be permitted.
Contestants must be under 18 years of age at the time of submission.
Only one poem per person.
Poem must adhere to basic rules of capitalization:
Do not type poem in all capital letters.
Do not capitalize the first letter of every word.
Only capitalize words that are proper (i.e. names and places).
The first word of each line may be capitalized if it is done consistently throughout.
Poems containing language that is vulgar, offensive, or wholly inappropriate will not be accepted.
All individual poetry remains the property of the author.
Poems must be submitted online at GlitteringLights.Vegas/poem.
Entries will be accepted July 1, 2023 – October 1, 2023.
Winners will be notified by November 1, 2023.
The contest is open to anyone under the age of 18.
All finalists will be featured in the 2023 Wrapping Paper published by Glittering Lights. There is no purchase required to be included in this contest. There will be no royalties paid to contributors. By submitting a poem to our contest, you accept that your poem will appear online and in print.
We have the right to publish any contact information submitted including first names and age and it is understood that there is no monetary compensation given to winners above the listed prizes.
By submitting a poem you are releasing the original work for use in perpetuity to Glittering Lights, Ivory Star Productions and any associated organizations and employees.
We reserve the right to not publish a poem for any reason.
