But the giving doesn’t stop there. Each year, Glittering Lights selects five local Boy Scout troops to sell hot cocoa and kettle corn at the event. This initiative allows these young scouts to raise essential funds for their annual trips, camps, and other activities. Through this program, the Boy Scouts not only gain valuable life skills but also learn the importance of community involvement and service, making it a win-win for all.
Glittering Lights is also proud to serve as a Goodwill of Southern Nevada donation drop-off location during the holiday season. Last year alone, this partnership resulted in the collection of 7,000 pounds of gently used items, all of which went to support Goodwill’s mission of helping individuals in Southern Nevada achieve their full potential through education and employment. By simply donating items, visitors to Glittering Lights can make a significant difference in the lives of others. In addition to supporting Speedway Children’s Charities and Goodwill, Glittering Lights offers a unique way for local businesses and individuals to give back through the Neon Forest. Sponsoring a tree in this glowing display directly benefits Project 150, a charity dedicated to supporting homeless and disadvantaged high school students in the Las Vegas area. Each tree represents a commitment to helping these teens overcome their challenges and achieve their educational goals, making a lasting impact on their futures.
Glittering Lights is also a strong advocate for those who serve our country and community honoring heroes and community champions. Free Veteran’s Night and Military Mondays are special evenings dedicated to honoring military personnel by offering them free entry for their entire car. It’s a small gesture of appreciation for their enormous sacrifices. Similarly, First Responders are given their own night of recognition, where they too can enjoy the light displays for free, as a token of gratitude for their tireless work. Each year thousands of families enjoy the lights for free thanks to our wonderful partners such as Findlay Subaru of Las Vegas, Verizon, and Blvd Home.
Teachers, the unsung heroes of our community, are also celebrated with a special night dedicated to them. On this evening, educators are invited to experience the magic of Glittering Lights at no cost, recognizing their vital role in shaping the future of our children. These dedicated nights are more than just free entry—they are a way for the community to come together to acknowledge and thank those who make a difference every day.
Glittering Lights offers unique experiences like ORV (off-road vehicle) Night, where guests with ATVs or UTVs can drive through the spectacular displays for free, simply by donating a toy to benefit Toys for Tots. This special night not only provides a thrilling way to experience the lights but also supports a beloved charity that ensures every child has a gift to open during the holiday season.
The Living Nativity display at Glittering Lights is another highlight that showcases the involvement of local churches and organizations. This live portrayal of the nativity scene adds a touching, spiritual element to the event, reminding visitors of the true meaning of Christmas. The community’s participation in this display further emphasizes the collaborative spirit that makes Glittering Lights so special such as Shadow Hills Youth Group, Calvary Chapel Harvest and many of the area’s United Methodist Churches.
