Speedway Children’s Charities‘ PJ 5K Run & 1-Mile Walk returned to Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2021 holiday season after being held virtually in 2020 due to the pandemic. The event, which drew in more than 2,200 participants, raised more than $50,000 for the nonprofit, which provides funding for organizations that meet the direct needs of children. Pajamas for local children were also donated.
Each year, participants dress up in their favorite jammies or holiday attire and walk or run through the entire Glittering Lights footprint, with medals and milk and cookies served at the finish line. It’s a great way for families to come together and raise money for a good cause just in time for the holiday season.

This year, Adam London from Adam London’s Laughternoon hosted the fun-filled, family-friendly event and announced his new Las Vegas residency launching soon. Other notable highlights included an appearance from Biscuit the Reindeer, Glittering Lights’ official mascot, as well as Spruce and the Aviator from the Las Vegas Aviators, Pit Boss from Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Buckets from the Las Vegas Aces, McGruff The Crime Dog from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Happy Star from Carl’s Jr.
Performers from Positively Arts, Critical Care Comics and UNLV cheerleaders also entertained participants before and during the event.
